Akiba-Schechter, in partnership with JCFS, hosted a screening of “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”, the documentary about the life and work of Mr. Rogers. The screening, which was held at Anshe Emet in Lakeview, was followed by a powerful discussion about communication with children in today’s environment. The discussion was led by Dr. Eliezer Jones, Head of School, Miriam Kass, Principal, and Carla Goldberg, Early Childhood Director, all from Akiba-Schechter, and Ann Luban, Social Worker at JCFS. With the over 35 people in attendance, the screening and discussion were so well received that Akiba-Schechter plans to take the show on the road. Stay tuned for an upcoming Skokie date.
