Another Fantastic WMBL Season!
WHAT A GAME! This week the WMBL (Womens’ Madraigos basketball league) had their final championship game and award ceremony. It was an incredible season with playoff games that kept us on the edge of our seats and a championship game that kept everyone guessing until the last second. Team Marci’s Boot Camp played hard all season and up until that final championship buzzer when they won the game 23 to 18. Team Danzigers Catering gave it all they got against Marci’s, were great sports and happy to come in second place. Followed by Team Mattress King, Team Ovitsky Vision Care, Team Eved, and Team Tein Li Chow.
It was so nice to see the mothers, grandmothers, and friends who came to watch the game and support our players. The award ceremony was a great opportunity to recognize each player and what they added to their team, as well as to recognize six special players who added substantially to the league overall. The ceremony was enjoyed by all those who attended, despite the inclement weather, which was just a testament to how much the girls enjoy the league each week.
We want to thank our team sponsors who enabled the league and allow Madraigos Midwest to provide an enriching, exciting, and healthy outlet to the over 50 participants of the WMBL. Madraigos Midwest would also like to thank the team coaches, women in our community, who give their all each week to their teams, Talia Mashiach, Shaindy Kompel, Rivkah Efron, Elisheva Neuberger, Avi Levinson, Ayelet Kleinman, Dina Hartstein, and Rena Wengrow. The coaches work diligently to ensure the girls are having a great time, build their self esteem, sportsmanship, confidence, coordination and more. Youth sports leagues are vital in preventative programming and aid in building healthier teens and future adults. Madraigos Midwest is proud to be able to continue offering the league and look forward to starting games up again in the spring.
Additionally, thank you to Arie Crown Hebrew Day School for hosting our league each week. And most of all Madraigos Midwest would like to thank the girls- the players, supporters, volunteers, and all those who made this year’s season so successful.
Madraigos Midwest’s MBL, boys basketball league will be kicking off playoffs this week in what we are sure will be some very exciting games!
