On Sunday March 4th over 150 children, parents and grandparents gathered at the Bernard Horwich JCC for Nature Trail Explorers Day, a program generously underwritten by the Gendler Grapevine Grant. Families enjoyed an interactive reptile show including a giant tortoise, snakes of all sizes, and a variety of other amphibians. After the show, a range of nature-themed activities kept everyone busy. Children learned to make a healthy trail mix, beaded bracelets, painted stones for their gardens, and ran an obstacle course. Wendy Singer, North Side Regional Program Director said, “It was such a fun event! We loved seeing our current families and meeting so many new ones. It was great to see so many happy faces on a sunny Sunday morning!” For more information about Apachi J Camp and Early Childhood programming at JCC Chicago please visit www.jccchicago.org.
