What makes a Jewish community? Is it a shul? A school? Perhaps a mikvah? On Sunday morning, March 31, the YU Torah Mitzion Kollel asked the 10th graders at FYHS to consider priorities in building a Jewish community. With an invitation to start a new Jewish community, the students had to decide how to allocate their funds to community institutions. Armed with sources from Chazal, they debated which are most important, which we can live without, and what institutions here in Chicago have we never appreciated.
