Chai Lifeline Midwest kicked off the summer with an incredible trip to Six Flags Great America! A whopping 250 staff members, families and volunteers joined us for an incredible Joan and Shael Bellows Family Fun Day! Even the rain couldn’t compete with the sunshine created by the smiles of ChaiLifeline. The group enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Great Chicago Food & Beverage Company and enjoyed the theme park’s thrilling rides and games, putting the GREAT in GREAT America! Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers. A special thank you to the Bellows Family for another incredible year and to Ella Lieberman for the beautiful pictures.

in addition, 6 campers and staff headed to NY for the most amazing summer experience. Camp Simcha Special gives 230 children and teens with chronic illness and/or disabilities a summer experience that screams “I can do this!” instead of whispering, “I’m too sick.” At Camp Simcha, children and teens trade hospital rooms and doctors’ offices for fun, friendship, and hope for the future. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities in fully handicapped-accessible facilities. Talent shows, concerts, and helicopter, hot-air, and motorcycle rides make every day super-special. Campers return home reinvigorated, with deep friendships and happy memories to help them travel the rough road ahead. We cannot wait for our campers to return home!

Lastly but certainly not least, while superstar Ohad came to Chicago for a concert, he also made a special visit to a Chai Lifeline Midwest family who was super excited to hear that the singer was in town. Ohad was able to kindly squeeze the visit in and on Erev Shabbos, no less! Thank you Ohad for showing us what it truly means to be a SUPER-STAR!
