Chicago City Council Expresses Sorrow Following the Slayings at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburg

Alderman Edward M. Burke (14th) presented a resolution to the leadership of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago expressing the City Council’s profound sorrow following the fatal shooting of eight men and three women inside Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue.

“We appreciate you being with us and standing with us,” said Brown, the Past Chair of the Jewish United Fund.

Ms. Kleper taught at the Tree of Life Synagogue before coming to Chicago and is a fourth generation native of the Squirrel Hill neighborhood where the synagogue is located.  Ms. Kleper is a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors.
