The cRc is proud to present to the community Explanation of Kinnos, a series of video-introductions to select Tisha B’Av Kinnos. The dedicated webpage links to each video-introduction and a playlist of all the introductions. Many cRc Rabbinical leaders are featured including Rabbi Yona Reiss, Av Beth Din of the cRc.
“Coming off of the success of our Shavuos program, we recognized that our Rabbonim from around Chicago have a great deal to teach and that there is an interest in learning from a wide array of Torah personalities and scholars,” said Rabbi Shaanan Gelman, Rav of Kehilat Chovevei Tzion, and President of the cRc. “Tisha B’Av this year presents the problem of the inability to spend extended periods of time in shul. As such, we are encouraging community members to recite Kinnos from the safety of their own homes. “
The site is unique in that not only are the Kinnos explained, but the text is provided for all Kinnos, including those without a video explanation. The site will be an instrumental resource for those who want to prepare and review the Kinnos before Tisha B’Av. It will be an invaluable help on Tisha B’Av for anyone who wishes to gain a greater insight into the Kinnos and the day itself.
