Governor Rauner Prays for Peace at Western Wall

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen, and other university administrators joined Rabbi Avraham Kagan of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois for a special visit to the Kotel in Jerusalem. The Governor and his group were greeted by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Chief Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites of Israel. They also toured the excavation tunnels that unveil hidden sections of the Western Wall. Governor Rauner said “It is an honor to come to this wall and pray for peace and justice for all people of all backgrounds and faiths.”Rauner is in Israel to promote the new Illinois Innovation Network, to meet with leaders of the Israeli Innovation Authority and other entrepreneurial organizations, and to formalize partnerships with and other research schools. Governor Ruaner invited Rabbi Kagan to join the trip after he met with leaders of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois, Regional Rabbi Meir Moscowitz and Executive Director Rabbi Yosef Moscowitz
