Envoy America, a specialized ridesharing program that offers accompanied transportation plus assistance and companionship for seniors and patients, announced that has expanded into the Chicago market to provide accompanied transportation services to senior citizens.

Envoy America is disrupting the ridesharing industry with an elevated level of service that targets the aging population, one of the fast growing demographics in the country.  Chicago marks the 12th major market for Envoy America with nearly 68 cities services and an additional 10 cities slated for 2018.

Instead of the standard pick up and drop off service of traditional transportation/ridesharing companies, Envoy America offers a door-to-door service where driver companions not only drive, but also provide assistance at all points along the journey from pushing a grocery cart, to running errands and taking clients to and from appointments.  Drivers remain with clients until they are back home. All drivers undergo specialized training including senior and patient sensitivity, CPR, and a senior memory module specifically designed by Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, all of which makes them especially, qualified to understand their clients.  As an added bonus, Envoy America is a veterans and women friendly company.  Furthermore, many of the drivers are Seniors themselves which is a great way to pay it forward.  Envoy America does not hire driver companions looking for a job.  Rather, they seek folks who view assisting others as a calling.

Services include transportation, providing a helping hand for doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, social outings, religious services and more.  In most cases, Envoy America rates cost less than a taxi or other ridesharing service.

The Chicago area will be lead by Director of Operations Steven Wolf. Mr. Wolf is a former 9-year home care agency owner in Chicago who has a deep understanding of a day in the life of a Caregiver and a lifelong passion for taking care of our vital senior citizens.

“I am excited and to introduce Envoy America to Chicago.  As a Chicago native, and former home care agency owner, I was able to see firsthand the travel challenges and limitations senior citizens experience as they age. There is a tremendous need for maintaining independence and Envoy America is able to satisfy transportation needs by way of our compassionate and trained drivers who see serving seniors as a calling rather than just a job,” said Wolf. “It is gratifying that in addition to Envoy America’s offering mobility and independence to individuals, professional organizations including assisted living and independent communities, doctors and surgery centers, hospitals, law firms and religious institutions, have all developed their use cases.  Everyday I receive feedback about how we are providing better service, reducing sales cycles, increasing census and reducing family stress and anxiety.  I feel blessed to be a part of such a helpful resource,” adds Wolf.

Co-founder and CEO K. C. Kanaan initially developed this service in order to care for his own aging parents, who recently lost the ability to drive and with it, their independence.  “I created Envoy America so that my mom and people like her would never have to worry about where they wanted to go or when,” said Envoy America Chief Executive Officer K. C. Kanaan. “We understand that seniors need reliable, safe, door-to-door transportation that comes at a specified time, is affordable, and provides polite, compassionate, professional service, and that’s what we do every single time.  We have been incredibly grateful that not just individuals but corporations and nonprofits are utilizing this service,” added Kanaan.

Envoy America is proud to service and partner with many high-profile institutions including: American Cancer Society, American Medical Response/Access 2 Care, Surpass Senior Living, the Summit at First Hill Senior Living, the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, Faith Presbyterian Church and Fellowship Square Senior Living.
