In honor of Chanukah, Yachad had two fun, back-to-back parties at Congregation Anshe Motele. Our first celebration was with our Seniors (15-23 y/o) and Rayim (24+ y/o) members. Over 40 members, peers and advisors came to celebrate and play an exciting game of ‘Sufganiyot Wars.’ Inclusive teams decorated multiple sufganiyot for a few different rounds and a winner was chosen for the best decorated and themed sufganiyot! The winners received Chanukah gelt and everyone ate their tasty sufganiyot and latkes at the end of the games. A special mention goes to our guest judge, Mr. Joshua Lipman. Thank you to our amazing High School Leadership Board, who also led additional games and icebreakers. Healthy socialization rounded out a wonderful afternoon b’Yachad.
Our Juniors division (7-14 y/o) played a fun ‘Presents Puzzle’ game and danced to Chanukah music. During the game, each member was paired with an advisor and peer and was given 2-3 small gifts. Everyone put their gifts into a decorative bag and hid them around the synagogue. Each group wrote clues that would help other members be able to find the presents and everyone went home with those presents for Chanukah! Sufganiyot and Chanukah cookies enhanced everyone’s experience.
