Over 100 boys and girls in grades 4-8 participated in the YU Torah Mitzion Kollel’s Countdown for Matan Torah Learning Contest in honor of Tani Robinson’s bar mitzvah. The kids learned pesukim or mishnayot throughout the Omer and earned points for what they learned; the more they learned, the more points they earned. (Two boys earned over 10,000 points each!)
Two siyumim at EJ’s, one for boys and one for girls, culminated the program and celebrated the students’ accomplishments. Not only did the boys and girls enjoy a delicious pizza dinner but they also received prizes based on their points, such as gift cards to EJ’s Pizzeria, Dairy Star, and 7-11. They were also awarded raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes like a drone, Fuji Film Instant Camera, Kesher Stam gift cards, bikes, and the grand prize of $250 to Amazon!
But the most impressive part of the whole program is the amount of Torah these young talmidim and talmidot learned! Over 29,300 pesukim (enough to have learned the entire Torah five times) and over 9,600 mishnayot (more than double the number of all Mishnayot in shas)! Yasher ko’ach on all of your accomplishments!
