The YU Torah Mitzion Kollel welcomes Rabbi Dr. Ari Sytner for its first Living Torah weekend of learning this year. Sponsored by the Friedman family in memory of Aron and Rifka Friedman family, this program brings outstanding Torah personalities to the Chicago community, sharing these incredible resources with different neighborhoods.

Rabbi Dr. Sytner is a noted speaker, therapist, author, kidney donor and senior staff member at Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future. At a lovely Friday night Oneg hosted by Daniel and Rifka Weiss, Rabbi Dr. Sytner shared inspirational stories from his time as a Rabbi in Charleston and Divrei Torah. His shiurim over Shabbos in Kehilat Chovevei Tzion and Or Torah included a discussion of Chesssd and his journey as a kidney donor to a total stranger. Motzei Shabbat he spoke in Darchei Noam in Northbrook about healthy marriage and relationships, the basis of his doctoral work.

The weekend culminated with a remarkable Sunday morning conversation hosted at HTC focused on developing good listening. Rabbi Dr. Sytner was joined by HTC’s Rabbi Shmuel Schuman, a noted presenter on marriage and relationships for couples, and Mr. Yankie Greenberger, leader of Madraigos Midwest, who addressed various aspects of listening and its contribution to healthy relationships. This insightful discussion was relevant to participants of all ages and is available for audio download on the Kollel’s website: www.TorahChicago.org.
